Teams Selected For “Pro Challenge”

Pros Tim Frederick and Shaw Grigsby and shop owner Bill Brooker, of Brooker’s Bait and Tackle, were guests of the Freshwater fishing Club meeting on November 13, 2018.  Brooker spoke about a recent tournament he held for high school students from all over Florida.  The one-day tournament on the Harris Chain required in excess of 20 lbs. for 5 fish.  On the Sunday following, Junior teams caught 5-fish sacks approaching 20 lbs.  Brooker stated that he had never been so favorably impressed with the behavior of a group of boys.

Frederick and Grigsby took the stand separately and together to to provide techniques for catching Largemouth Bass.  They discussed, baits, lines, knots, rods, and reels.

Teams were selected for the “Pro Challenge by raffle.  First, the Shaw Grigsby team was drawn:

Then, the Tim Frederick team:

And then, the Freshwater Fishing Club Club fishing team

The Recreation Department team will be identified on the day of the event, November 15.  The event will start at Lake Miona Recreation Center at 7:30 am and last until 12:30
