October in Central Florida has always been a month of change and based on what has been reported, it looks like we’re in for some great fall fishing. FFC member Jon Young was the first to report. While fishing with shiners in the Oklawaha River on October 5th, he reeled in this 9lb. 14oz. trophy. I bet that he is still smiling!
For FFC member Wayne Barksdale, catching trophy size Bass is just another day at the office. On October 15th, it took Wayne only three casts and this 9lb. 3oz. Lake Griffin beauty was on. A Junebug trick worm did the job. What a way to start the day.
The month ended on a high note for our Club President, Randy DiSanto. Fishing Santiago pond on October 31st and throwing a crankbait with no results he decided to slow it down and fish a soft plastic worm. Two casts later this 7lb. 8oz. Villages pond giant decided to eat. A nice Halloween treat for sure!
Things are starting to heat up and November should be even better. Thanks to all who have reported and sent in pics. Keep them coming.
