For those of you that have been waiting for the bass to turn on at Deaton….”Dinner is served”….Sunday between 1530 & 1645 I caught 10….lost many….broke off 2….and had to quit & head home with them still eating. They showed themselves schooling & that’s all I needed. White fluke was the answer same as last year. 20 lb braid, swivel, 18″ fluorocarbon or mono 8 lb leader, 3/0 thin wire hook. Go buy a counter because you’ll not be able to keep track once they start. All were released but would make someone an EZ meal. Nothing big but just a lot of topwater fun.
Here’s a couple more anglers that were at Harris last week. Jack Hoban caught this bass on a black & chrome rattle trap on 12/7/16.
Then I get a text from dad Dan saying that his step son Waylon Padget, AKA “The Natural” just caught a 4 lbr. OK that’s nice but no big deal right? WRONG….Waylon Padget is the ripe old age of 6. Here’s Waylon proudly displaying his bass he’d caught on a green Senko….and released. Waylon uses an adult size spinning rod. No Snoopy Rigs for him….Thanks Dan for sending the pics….we’ve got members that haven’t caught bass this large.
