There’s some anglers living in The Villages that are wearing them out during the summer season. It seems that these old green fish still bite IF you can just find them. Gary Towers with his friend Joe got 10 Monday at Griffin with the largest going 3.3 lbs. Take them like that any day Gary.
Here’s Erie Forehand holding a nice healthy 3.1 lb bass he caught on a worm.
Above Erie Forehand holds a nice 3.1 lb bass he’d caught on a worm. Erie said that was his 3rd fish. (Click on pics for close up)
Even Wayne Barksdale continues to catch bass from his ever producing hole near Lakeland, FL. Wayne said he and his wife caught 12 fish and the largest weighed 6 lbs that coughed this up on the floor….yeah what’s left of a crawdad. Hmmm – I think I’ve got some crawdads that color.
President elect Randy DiSanto has been catching Tilapia on a fly rod from a Village pond. These colorful fish are similar to bluegils on steroids. If you’ve seen the soup bowl shape spawning beds, these are the engineers of nature that make them. It seems the fish that doesn’t bite on bait of any kind will eat a fly. Randy has them down to a science.
Not to be outdone, VP Elect Rob Husson shows off a 4 lb catfish that also ate a fly. I’ll bet that put up a fight.
Happy Birthday Rick Clunn.
